Ice Blanket

I have been fussing about the weather lately, but winter really does provide some good opportunities to look at things from a different perspective. Last week we had lots of ice that only lasted for about a day, but it sure was purty! 

I went outside in my jammies for just a few minutes to take some pictures, and the sound of ice-covered branches crackling in the wind was super cool. 

I got really cold about now because my pj's were not cut out for this weather. Enough art for today!

My blog brain is empty, so I looked around for some happy pictures from sunny days gone by. 

If spring is a state of mind, I'm moving!

I tell myself one more time, that we are closer to spring today than we've ever been!

A Foggy Day

I was excited to get out this weekend and drive around to capture some of this strange, strange winter. I'm sorry that I ruined the recent car wash, but I had to get a bit muddy in the process.

Isn't the last one especially sweet? 

I'm reminded to look for the beauty in the mundane, 

around us all the time.Just have to grab it!

Just trying to be like this today...quiet, serene, and smiling on the inside. 

Yoda would say that there is no "try," there is only "do." Maybe I would feel better if Buddha or Yoda were around to give me a hug and tell me it will be ok. 

It's just that kind of day. 

The color of springtime is in the flowers; the color of winter is in the imagination.

Woods Trip

A pretty warm winter day made good time for a trek through the woods to the falls and on to the sledding hill. No one felt quite up to the BIG hill so we settled for the HALF-BIG hill which was plenty enough. 

It was a good time with new friends and lots to explore. I can handle these types of winter days! 

Waiting For The Bus

Little gal thought it was hilarious yesterday when we were all dressed and ready, waiting outside for the bus. Waiting, waiting....

Mom, did you check the schedule?

Sure, honey, of course I did (about a month ago).

Surprise! One more day of vacation! For her, at least. 

She cackles, Mom, I told you so!

We Did It.

That's right, we put a lid on 2012. Wrapped it up with a tidy bow and sent it on its way. Some people came and some went. There were new things and things that stayed the same. I love the promise of the new year, when it's fresh, sparkling, and yet-to-be opened. Let's see what happens!
